Meet NACE member Tony Rea from Creations in Cuisine

If you're looking for amazing catering, look no further than Tony Rea from Creations in Cuisine. Tara Gray, who does sales for Creations in Cuisine says that summer is hardest on her diet because Tony is always coming up with new recipes that they get to fall in love with his food all over again.

What is your favorite comfort food?  Homemade Pasta and Sunday Gravy aka – San Marzano Tomato Sauce simmered with Sweet Basil, Pork Short rib, Italian Sausage and Homemade Meatballs. 

Who, living or dead, would you most like to have a chat with? My Father. He watched me hand draw the first logo for CICC but never got to see the business up and running. I would love to hear his advice and have him know how we have grown. 

What are you reading? I recently finished reading Bruce -  a Bruce Springsteen biography by Peter Ames Carlin 

What song do you most want to hear when working out? Born to Run, it starts out strong and ends with the characters breaking out of the same old routine which motivates me to workout hard and have a new outlook for the day when I walk out the door of the gym

Do you have any hobbies? and what are they? Any vacation usually involves the beach, I love to ride my Harley whenever I can and attend live music concerts weather a local band in a dive bar or a national act. 

What is your favorite day of the week and why? Sunday, family day! And Sunday Gravy for dinner. 

Do you have a favorite movie, or one you absolutely hate? I would have to say the Godfather 1 as my favorite and Indecent Proposal as my least favorite.

What brings joy to your day? A quick phone call from my oldest son to check in and when I walk in the door at home and I get attacked by my two youngest. 

Tell us a little bit about you and your business? I am originally form New York and moved to AZ in 1983. I have been in the food service industry since I was 16 and have held positions as a dishwasher, pizza maker, line cook, Executive Chef and culinary instructor.  In 1996 I was tired of the corporate world and took the summer off to decide what I would do next. While I was off several clients of mine from the Boulders Resort where I had worked for the last 10 years would ask me to be their private chef or cater a party for them so I decided to stay with it and see where it would go. 18 years later we are a full service catering company offering corporate, social and wedding catering with over 15 full time employees operating in a 5500 sq ft commissary servicing Phoenix and the surrounding areas.
