What is your favorite comfort food? My favorite comfort food is the same food I'd want to be stuck on a deserted island with...peanut butter!

Who, living or dead, would you most like to have a chat with? I always love this question, and I always have to cheat and give two answers, as why limit myself to one DEAD person or one ALIVE one?  Now that my dad is looking down at me from above, and has his mental wits back about him (after all, that is what happens when they go to heaven, right?), I would love to travel back in time to him being 40, tossing back a few beers, and hearing all about his life, especially his WWII days, as he never spoke about them.  It wasn't until his death that I found out about his medals and campaigns he served on, and I just wish he'd shared more with me.  Now, as far as my chat with a person who still walks this earth, I'd have to say, a bottle of wine and some Khara Plicanic (photographer) would be a hoot.  I love her energy, her work, and her passions of life itself.

What are you reading? What am I NOT reading?  I'm ALWAYS reading SOMETHING!  ;)  Currently, it's a mix of The Prosperity Bible and You Can Heal Yourself.

What song do you most want to hear when working out? What's working out?  I have done that a few times, and I have to admit, I love the mixes on Pandora and Spotify for working out.

Do you have any hobbies? and what are they? I still like to consider my photography a "hobby" as I really don't like to call it a job.  I LOVE to be outdoors, so I guess hiking and camping could be considered "hobbies," although it's been forever and a day since I've been.  Love to curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee or glass of red wine, too.  Does that count?

What is your favorite day of the week and why? Every day that I wake up breathing is my favorite day of the week, but I do tend to favor Sundays.  Just something about Sunday morning jazz playing and everyone being at ease at home makes life wonderful.

Do you have a favorite movie, or one you absolutely hate? I have a couple favorite movies.  It's a toss up between "What Dreams May Come" and "Independence Day."  I know, completely opposite, but those are the only two that I still have the DVDs for and can watch over and over.

What brings joy to your day? As you can probably tell by what I've written here, and for those who already know me, I'm a talker.  I LOVE talking to people.  Each and every day I find joy in just the simple gesture of saying "Hello" to people and making them smile.  It brings me even greater joy when we actually have a conversation.  There's just something with interacting with people that I just can't get enough of!

Tell us a little bit about you and your business?

Photography by MF (soon to be Elizabeth Douglas Photography) pretty much started in order to save my marriage.  I guess my 23 years of teaching had taken its toll on me, and my husband gave me an ultimatum.  So, that's how it all got grew out of my passion of capturing moments for people, and has turned into a hobby that now makes money!  You can just imagine the joy it brings me, especially with all the people I get to interact with, and capture their "best."  I love being able to capture a woman at her sexiest in a boudoir session and watch her well up with tears when she sees the image straight out of the camera as she says, "I can't believe that's me!"  Working side by side with my husband shooting weddings and family portraits has now taken our business to a whole new level (he's not just the tech and lighting guy anymore!).  And no, he doesn't join me on the boudoir sessions, as I know you were thinking that, but he DOES help me pick out the best photos from a man's perspective.  From events to parties, weddings to births, I just never imagined having so much fun working!  Oh, and in case you're wondering about the Elizabeth Douglas rebrand, now that hubby (Kristian DOUGLAS) is on board with me (Maria ELIZABETH), I thought it was time to give him more credit than just the "F" in the MF!  (Hee! Hee!)
