Tantalizing Tables- Hot Trends in Tabletop Design

Tabletop design is an art unto itself, and the designers in Phoenix brought out all the stops at the Phoenix NACE Tantalizing Tables Event

"Fashion Couture"
was the design inspiration for my table.' said Jennifer Starr of J.Starr Stylized Weddings and Events  'I feel that like fashion it is important not to be too trendy...because "trendy" is often the last phase before a style becomes "tacky."
As Wedding Designers we must caution clients not to follow trends to the extreme...we want them...years from now, to look back on their wedding days and still view them as classic, sophisticated, timeless.
With those thoughts in mind, I designed a table based on "Fashion Couture" "Fashion" symbolizing the classic look and "Couture" symbolizing the customization needed for each individual client.
The brand new "Gold Sequin Taffeta" linen by Southwick Linens was very eye catching and dramatic. The table was topped with a black chandelier and covered in different shades of various white flowers, provided by Renata Hodl.  The finishing touched included black, white, and gold menu cards provided by The Event Essentials along with Coco Chanel inspired party favor cupcakes provided by Piece of Cake Desserts.
Add to add to the fun....Renata (Florist), Haley (J.Starr Intern), along with myself wore elegant gowns provided by Suzanne's Bridal.  Shannon Thomas, Beauty Director of Studio 3 Beauty Design completed the "look" with professional hair and make up application.
Lastly, I added a fashion "step and repeat" runway with my custom made up lit logoed backdrop...including red rope stations and rose petal carpet.  It was such a joy to see everyone pose in front of the step and repeat with big fabulous smiles are their faces.'

Watercolor Art:
Trista Guzman of BTS Event Management designed a table inspired by watercolor art. 'We used watercolor paintings for our backdrop along with watercolor painted place card canvases that sat on tiny easels. We placed paint brushes on on each place setting for a little extra detail.  We had amazing floral design from The Flower Bar who pulled inspiration from the art work that hung as the backdrop.  They also spruced up our beautiful chandelier from Christian at Classic Party Rental by adding suspended flowers and greenery.  Christian from Classic party rental also provided our draping, table, chairs and place settings.  We had an amazing team behind our design.  We would say that the attention to detail from Flower Bar, Classic Party Rental, and ourselves is what really pulled it all together.  We were able to incorporate the watercolor inspiration throughout the entire space! '
Elegance at the Ranch was the inspiration for the table from Fred's Flowers
We designed the table with Jessica Angel and the Events Rents team.
The theme reflected a rustic elegance combining wood, crystal, mercury glass with accents of gold and a soft romantic floral tablescape in the popular colors of ivory, peach and coral.
The upscale final presentation took the trending look which has been very popular and brought it to a higher level of romantic classic elegance.
Kudos to our team Renee, Kathy and Lori at Fred's Signature Floral Events!

1950’s return!

Known for the off the wall ideas, David Twigger and the Venue Scottsdale took us back to the good ol happy days with their 1950’s themed design.  Used for a large mitzvah, the idea was then turned into a themed party for a large pharmaceutical group.

3 foot Ice Cream cones greated everyone with silver high topped tables.  Vintage items such as table top jukeboxes, malt glasses and a 6’ replica of a pink Cadillac rounded out this display.  With this fun and not overused theme the group dresses in poodle skirts and leather jackets to round out the night.

Dia de Los Muertos Glam Style...
The J Barry Designs team always loves BRIGHT colors and thinking out of the box. With one visit to Cort Events and a phone call to Christian at Classic Party Rentals the design was set. The bright white unique chaise lounge with the blue napoleon chairs were the perfect foundation for our table. We new we needed red bright drape as a backdrop and Christian found the perfect shade for us. Our main trend was hanging centerpiece so we used two of Classic Party Rental chandeliers and a white wreath from J Barry Designs. The combination was AWESOME!!! To incorporate the dia de los muertos theme we used a beautiful silver skull and created a gorgeous fascinator with air plants and carnation. The centerpiece then cascaded down the table to give a dramatic look!!

Orange is the New Black: Apropos Creations and Encore Creative Weddings collaborated in creating this out of the box table for this year’s NACE Tantalizing Table presentation.  Having films as one of the trendsetters in today’s inspirations for events, e.g. The Great Gatsby, Chicago, The Game of Thrones, etc., their inspiration came from the Netflix hit series Orange is the New Black.  The jail door, silver panels, centerpieces, chairs, handcuffs as napkin rings, silver bordered China set, cracked glassware, silver communal table, stools, and place cards with handcuffs image all came together as Jo Ann M. Grant and Kristin Sanchez were brainstorming walking up and down Encore Creative’s warehouse.  Next thing you know, guests are ready to have an elegant dinner inside cell block 1.

The best part, neither ladies have ever seen the show!  They had a blast putting together this creative event table presentation.

Natural Earth Energy was Beauty and Brains Consulting's Alexis and Maggie's inspiration. Clean lines and candlelight created a modern and elegant table that is warm and inviting

Industrial Steam Punk showed us how creative the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort and Courtney Somerville are! Reduce, reuse, recycle and creative imaginings were just  some of the great ideas that made this unique table sparkle.

Day of the Dead by Amanda Johnson of Butterfly  Petals was all things bright! With Traditional Dia de los Muertos handpainted skulls and a cacophony of almost neon colors, this lively table was a true celebration.
