Jennifer Caterinacci

What is your favorite comfort food?   Being from the Midwest and with Thanksgiving just around the corner, “comfort food” immediately makes me think of my grandma’s green bean casserole. We truly love our casseroles in Ohio!

What are you reading? Just finished reading a fascinating book called  “Change your brain – change your body” by Dr. Amen. He explains that when your brain isn’t functioning properly, that dysfunction manifests itself in your physical body. Because you can’t see your brain, however, you don’t do anything to fix the problem at its source, leading you to adopt quick fixes and temporary solutions that ultimately fail. He uses brain imagery to locate the areas of his clients brains that are underperforming, and then uses herbal supplements and brain exercises to reactive those areas… which then helps the brain correctly fix the body’s problems. So interesting – definitely recommend.

What song do you most want to hear when working out?  Well, I work out at 4am, before the whirlwind of each day has time to take root. So I set my itunes radio to “Top 100 – Dance”  and it keeps me pumped up.  How can you not power through a work-out when Avicii comes on?

Do you have any hobbies, what are they? I enjoy hobbies that help me wind-down..  like hiking and yoga. I also enjoy shopping at Target, which I’m fairly certain can count as a hobby for as often as I am there.

What is your favorite day of the week & why? Saturdays. I love waking up “late” (since anything after 4am is considered late) and drinking a cup of coffee on my patio while I plan out my day.

Do you have a favorite movie or, one that you absolutely hate?  I just watched a movie where a guy’s wife is murdered and his son left physically disabled from the attack… then in a twisted turn of events, his son is kidnapped and he has to chase the kidnapper thousands of miles with the help of a mentally disabled female to try and save him. Overall, it was pretty good. It’s called Finding Nemo.

What brings joy to your day?  Other than lattes and peanut butter cups, having a client say that they were really pleased with their event. That is truly why we do what we do!

What one thing would you like people to know about your business? The Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel joined the Marriott family in December of 2011. We have 527 contemporary guest rooms and over 60,000 square feet of function space. Our large rooftop terrace even features a chef’s herb garden which Executive Chef Judson Branch utilizes for his culinary creations. Next time you’re downtown, come visit us! (Our bar, ICON Lounge, has a great happy and happier hour as well!)
