DRESS DESIGNS

 Designer:  Apropos Creations

This fabulous sari is created by Jo Ann M. Grant of Apropos Creations and is being worn by the beautiful Shannon Southwick of Southwick Linens. The base is made out of red, disposable linens and the colorful edging is from ribbon scraps and handmade tissue flowers from a previous Indian event. The garlands around Shannon’s waist are all also handmade by Jo Ann which are made of tissue paper with melted candle wax. This festive sari dress shows how much Apropos Creations has been influence by their love of planning Hindu weddings and events.

Designer:  Butterfly Petals

Butterfly Petal’s model, Brittany, was one of the first to join the creative team when Mandy decided to venture out of her home office and start a full blown studio space. With her signature bright pink locks, they knew she'd be a striking and fun model for their fresh-floral dress. Her skirt features a variety of greenery and is accented by a belt of fresh floral which creeps up her shoulder. She's also wearing a killer fresh-floral headdress.

Designer:  Creations in Cuisine

The main ingredients of the Pasta Dress were made in the Creations in Cuisine catering kitchen and include flour, water and a lot of love. They started with a base fabric then strategically attached different shapes of pasta (mostly Pasta Rea pasta made from scratch by Chef Tony Rea) to create a design that is both flattering and functional. To give the gown a shimmery edge, they painted the pasta with metallic shades of copper, silver and gold so their glimmering gown is truly a Creation in Cuisine!

Designer: Creative Coverings

Creative Coverings knows the “key” to designing a beautiful event, in addition to designing a fun dress. This unique dress is made out of more than 200 hotel room keys donated by the fabulous JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort. The keys are held together with ribbons and glitter gift wrap. The base of the top is a corset created with a table runner. Giving a new meaning to “Creative Coverings”.

Designer: Karma Event Lighting

Fire, snow, and ice. That’s just the beginning of what brings Karma  Event Lighting’s dress to life! Pulling Inspiration from everything, there’s nothing that can’t be projected! Stolen from the environment, scenery and everyday items, the dress by Karma Event Lighting is truly one of a kind.

Marriott Fab 5 & Vermilion Events

Anitra is wearing an Avant garde holiday dress of a beautiful tree skirt with a bow train paired with velvet from Santa's suit for the top. Frosted tree branches make a beautiful shoulder piece. A cranberry

bracelet can be seen climbing up her arm. No holiday outfit would be complete without a Santa belt buckle!

Designer:  NAU Student Chapter

NACE at Northern Arizona University created this two-piece dress from trash bags, Styrofoam bowls, and plastic silverware. Each bowl has been decorated by a member of the NAU NACE chapter showing each personality that makes up their incredible team!

Designer:  PartySpace.com

Downtown Julie Brown Pflueger from Prescott lost a bet to convert a long standing NACE Guest to a Member....and SOOOOOO the Balloon Dress was born! When you think of Balloons they were probably at the first event that you remember...and for those of us who are “Seasoned Catering Veterans”, we have seen them in bunches, arches, lit, exploding, in entertainment and now a most FUN-tastic dress! Tonight’s Balloon dress is modeled by Bailey and the awesome flower was provided by our own NACE Member Francine withThe Balloon People. PS ... don’t ever take on a bet with our President!

Designer:  San Marcos Resort

Being the first golf resort in Arizona, San Marcos Resort thought it would only be fitting to create an outfit that represents the Origin of Golf. They have created a traditional 1500s Scottish Highland outfit made from banquet and resort materials. His Tam O’ Shanter, aka his golfing cap, is made out of coffee filters, promotional materials, and a golf ball sits in place of the traditional fabric pom pom. The Sash is made of duct tape, and decorated in Scottish tartan, a cape of coasters. Ball Markers join the sash and the cape together. Underneath the sash, he is sporting a shirt made out of recycled BEOs, (they had to do something with all those papers)! Sticking to the traditional Scottish garb, the Sporran, nowadays referred to as a “man purse”, is made from craft moss, a leather check presenter, and cocktail forks. His kilt is made out of tablecloths. Moving down to his Flashes, cocktail forks were again used in place of tassels. The outfit is topped off with an antique golf club making our Scottish Golfer ready for the course!

Designer:  Scottsdale Plaza

Designed this beautiful floral wedding gown with a stunning crown to match.

Designer: Tempe Mission Palms

Tempe Mission Palms has created a unique wedding dress by using old re-purposed wedding brochures. Great way to be sustainable and re-usable right? The brochures were used mainly on the skirt and train along with other elements. A plastic table cover was used under the dress along with embellishments of paper flowers. All of these items are being held together by a belt and tank top.

Designer:  Y-Knot Party & Rentals

Y-Knot Party is well known for rentals, flowers and event design, but did you know that they are also a wholesaler of plastic and paper goods? To celebrate all things disposable, the Y-Knot 'muu-muu' dress design is made up of Plastic tablecloths for the top, trimmed with plastic skirting shirring around the neck and plastic skirting as the sleeves. The skirt is made up of a disposable table skirt,( how

appropriate!) the skirt is bedecked with grass skirting from their rental tiki hut, silk flowers from their rental floral department and a floral crown and lei to get you into that luau feel! Dana VanderJack, Y-Knot's new bright sales associate is the model.

Flower Power! with Phoenix NACE

Phoenix NACE talks Flower Power!

The Panel of Floral and Event Designers answered questions from seasonality to Pinterest and their favorite flowers to work with. They all created some amazing centerpieces to accent the Linens from Southwick Linens for the Dining tables that went from Romantic to Unique. Floral designers from Petal Pushers, Lux Floral Events, Tabletops Etc., Fred's Signature Floral Events and Encore Creative brought out all the stops to show u snew trends and designs.

Members and guests were able to design their own bud vases that were later donated to charity by our hosts Arizona Family Florists.

During Registration and Cocktail Hour with new member Pourmasters, everyone took some fun pictures at the Hip Booth by Hagerty Photography.

After a delicious round of Appetizers such as Steak Bites and salmon bruschetta hosted by Nibblers Catering, and some fabulous coffees frfom Creative Cappuccino,
