Hello Phoenix NACE!
It’s Spring time, and event season is definitely upon us! I hope you all are taking a moment to breathe and savor the beauty that is this part of the country. J This past week, I had the distinct pleasure in signing up 8 of our members to attend this year’s NACE Experience Conference in Palm Springs. This conference is going to be AMAZING, and is basically in our back yard! What is conference all about you ask??
The 2018 NACE Experience Conference is THE premier conference for catering and creative event partners. It is the perfect blend of creativity and connections, from the meals being served to the high-rated sessions and award-winning keynote speakers.

The Scottsdale Plaza was perfect for an outdoor "Whiskey & Wisdom" NACE meeting in March.
The Tasting Lead for our Whiskey tasting was Eddie Garcia, Bar Manager & Spirits Extraordinaire At the Jade BAr at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort andSpa.
The Scottsdale Plaza did a wonderful job decorating with fun Rustic and Whiskey inspired centerpieces and backdrops. and VoxDj's did our music and MC.
And of course, all the best people were there!

Chateau Luxe hosted our 'Style up the Aisle' Event
Jessica Angel, Director of SAles at Chateau Luxe welcomed everyone as they viewed the unique aisles from local designers. Dinner from Chateau Luxe's Chef Maurice Gordon was served in Picnic baskets with a ' french provencial' styling that was amazing delicious and fun to serve as well as unique. The Pear tart was Spectacular!
Even the BAr was unique with canned Specialty Drinks and Wine in Gift coozies from Chateau Luxe!
Event Design was a collaboration of Dawn Peterson from Creative Coverings with Fun blue and white Indigo Piazza 'picnic' linens and Mustard Dupioni napkins which were accented by fresh greenery and Kale centerpieces and CA Tony Medlock from Pj's Flowers and a lighted canopy and streetlamps from Ginia Lucas at Y-Knot Party Rentals.

Nicole Nevin is the Catering Manager for the Radisson Suites Tucson. She
was born and raised in a small town in Wisconsin until she graduated high school, then her parents moved the family to Arizona so she could attend Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. After four years at NAU, she graduated with a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management, Business Minor and Event Management Certificate. After graduation, she moved to Tucson with her fiancé and worked as a Restaurant Manager at Red Lobster. After a year at Red Lobster, she was able to transition into the event industry and got hired as the Catering Manager. After 9 months at the Radisson, she still absolutely loves her job! She is also involved with the Greater Vail Chamber of Commerce attends their monthly breakfast meetings in Vail, Arizona.
A fun fact about Nicole is that she wasborn on the actual day that the doctor predicted which happens to less than 1% of the population!
Spirit of NACE for March 2018 is Jessica Angel from Chateau Luxe.
Heather Dobler, the Catering Sales Manager for Lancer Catering at the Phoenix Zoo has been involved in different aspects of event planning and the hospitality industry for more than 15 years. Her passion and interest in food and its effect on the human body led her to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Arizona State University. Since graduation She has worked in a variety of positions including having the great fortune to travel nationally and internationally representing several large companies as a Brand Ambassador. For the past several years Heather has been immersed in the catering business and absolutely loves it. She enjoys creating menus, planning and executing all kinds of special events from weddings and corporate events to launch parties, trade shows, awards ceremonies, celebrations and galas. Shehase been the Catering Sales Manager for Lancer Catering at Phoenix Zoo for the past two and half years, and it’s been a lot of fun! With 15 different venues where guests can host private events, there are hundreds of events every year so it definitely feels like “A Zoo” sometimes!
