Hello Phoenix NACE!
The past year and half of being your Chapter President has been the most eye-opening period of my life! It has been such an honor. Being surrounded by such incredible professionals has given me new purpose and appreciation for our chosen career field. This industry can be hard on all aspects of your life at times (As you all very well know…), and it can be really hard sometimes to find a little joy. One thing that can ALWAYS bring me joy though, is my NACE Family! In the midst of this crazy event season, and in the spirit of all that is NACE, I just want to take a moment to say “THANK YOU!” for sharing yourselves with the rest of us! Being a part of this group is definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made!
We are all here to help, and if there is anything I can ever do for any of you, do not hesitate to call/email/text!

Challenges, trials, what works, what doesn’t? Who’s got it made and who knows their stuff?! How does a non-caterer get on the On-Premises vs Off-Premises referral list?
Panelists from a variety of Catering aspects gave members some great tips and info:

The interactive Cannoli Station was not only a huge hit but showed off one of the newest trends in catering.
Sue Carlisle from Straight to the Plate also told us about how she got into the catering business and her inspiring story 'I'm so happy my story was well received. I am always glad to share it to inspire others! We are really part of an awesome industry and we would not be here today without the guidance and kindness of others" Sue said.

May at the Sonesta Suites Scottsdale Gainey Ranch
The CPCE Scavenger Hunt was way more than a team building exercise! It not only gave members a chance to work with other members, but gave them a chance to see inside the workings of the CPCE exam. Each of the hunt locations had 4 to 6 questions for one of the disciplines in the exam ( such as accounting or event management) . The team had to answer the questions while they enjoyed appetizers and beverages from Sonesta Suites Scottsdale-Gainey Ranch
*The Winners! Red Team!*
The winning team each recieved a Starbucks gift card and recognition from their peers for answering the most questions right.
The evening started with cocktails on the lawn with a gorgeous sextagon arch. and beautiful floral designs by Pj's Flower & Events
The spring rain cut our networking in the garden short, but as we huddled together under the patio, we all got to know each other a little better! The Salad entree was enjoyed while the Board did announcements and explained how the scavenger hunt would be run. Southwick Linens paired their tablecloths witha design the at 'mirrored' the mirrors on the walls in the dining room.
The winning team was announced over a delightful chocolate torte with the musical stylings of Starz Entertainment
