2020 February Entertainment Trends & Safety Panel at Legacy Golf Club Print

President's Report

Hello NACE Community! Our 2020 Board of Directors and Committee Members are working so well together as a team and are already off to a great start. It is certainly going to be a stellar year this year and I am so honored to be the new Phoenix NACE Chapter President!

We have some exciting things going on that I want to share! Our first meeting this year for January was a great success! Thank you to the Avion Center in Chandler for hosting us and to Speaker Ragan Grossman, a past Phoenix NACE Member, who spoke on “How to Avoid Job Burnout.” It was such a great topic to kick off the new year. I think we can all say that we took away some great tips on how to navigate this very busy event season.

Our February meeting was planned 100% by our NAU Student Chapter! It was a beautiful event at the Legacy Golf Resort where they planned a 20’s theme and had a fantastic panel of speakers talking about Entertainment Trends and Safety. It was a blast! All the proceeds at this event went directly to the student chapter to continue their education.

Every two years in January the Board listens to several presentations and votes on who our local charity will be for the next two years. Dawn Peterson, CPCE our Community Service Chair and I are excited to announce that as a group we voted on the Arizona Animal Welfare League! We are thrilled to work with their team to design our involvement for 2020 – 2021.

Lastly, eight of our Phoenix NACE Members went to the annual Evolve conference this year! Evolve provides an encouraging learning environment for all National Chapters of NACE, encompassing an abundance of networking to empower us as leaders in our communities. We engaged on new program ideas, membership recruitment and retention best practices, and chapter reporting. My favorite part of the conference was being present in a room solely with other Chapter Presidents and Past Presidents. What an incredible experience and I took away so much priceless knowledge from them. It was truly incredible!

I am very much looking forward to the upcoming two years!! I am 100% committed to our chapter and the event community. The board of directors are all so talented and we are working hard to bring some amazing programs and content your way.

Let’s do this Phoenix NACE!

Meeting Recap

Happy February! Our monthly meeting was held at the Legacy Golf Course in Phoenix, AZ & planned by our wonderful NAU Student Chapter.

The students are able to use the meeting as a fundraiser for their Chapter and learn to create and plan an event from conception to completion. The NAU Student Chapter pulled out all of the stops with their “Roaring 20’s” Theme & Entertainment & Safety Industry Panel.

The Networking Reception was held on the beautiful Sierra Vista Lawn. Traditional Bruschetta & Chipotle Meatballs were served during the Networking Hour. The NAU Students assisted with registration & sold beads as part of a networking activity & fundraiser.

The Dinner & Meeting were held in the Legacy Gold Course onsite tent. Dinner was provided by the venue & included garlic herbed chicken, southwestern beef tenderloin, wild rice & asparagus.

The Entertainment Trends & Safety Panel included Joe Costello with Onstage Entertainment Group, LLC, Lisa Pressman & Ray Grace with Ray the DJ.
