A Letter From the President:
Looking back at the past year, I take a breath, as so many things come to mind. Of course, the effects of Covid-19, is in the forefront. It has affected absolutely each and every one of us. It was extremely hard and challenging with all of the shifting, recreating and the unknowns. Though in the end we have ALL been able to RISE UP and overcome this to the best of our abilities, because that’s what we do! We overcome!
As event specialists, it is natural to take challenges, and we know there will always be challenges, and make them opportunities. Opportunities to create new paths that otherwise would have not been seen or presented. I consider all of the new paths created, blessings. I know that I have so many blessings to be thankful for this year including the opportunity to rebrand, create our own video content and focus on the inner workings of our business. And this has proven to be priceless.
However, a frontrunner of those blessings is hands down, Phoenix NACE. Phoenix NACE has allowed us as a community to stay connected, to stay educated and to provide a forum of collaboration and support for one another. Phoenix NACE has provided so much opportunity to reinvent our programs and bring in magical content, compliments of NACE National. We planned 13 virtual events, along with 3 in-person, and one family experience at the Phoenix Zoo. That's 17 events! Phoenix NACE has allowed me to grow professionally in ways I never would have anticipated. This truly has been a phenomenal year of growth for us and we thank you all for your involvement in it and for supporting our chapter.
2020 was just a stepping stone for 2021, which is going to be invigorating and filled with even more opportunity and joy! Our board is planning on January and February being virtual events, in a different fashion, with the hope of March being an actual in person meeting. We will keep you updated as we all know that our in-person meetings can quickly change back to virtual. We will also be hosting our 2020 awards event in 2021 as it is important to the Phoenix NACE board to honor our winners in person.
Thank you so much to all of you and most importantly to our amazing board members who have been so wonderful to collaborate with this year.
If anyone is interested in joining the board in 2021, we have a few opportunities to get involved! Please reach out to me!
Cheers to 2021!
Your Phoenix NACE Chapter President

Our November meeting was held at the amazing Phoenix Zoo!! It was very bittersweet as the Phoenix NACE Board decided that due to the pandemic, we should not continue with our regular program. With that, we made the event a Zoo Light experience for all Members, Non-Members, Families and Guests!
Although we dearly missed the opportunity to have our annual wine dinner and annual financial meeting together, we knew that taking the proper safeguards for our community was more important.
Thank you to the everyone for your patience and for your participation in the Phoenix Zoo's most famous Zoo Light's Event! Deborah Beggs our Programs Chair and Kellie Mendoza, CPCE our President were able to at least greet everyone at the door and hand out tickets in person.
Thank you so much as well as the Phoenix Zoo for your commitment to NACE!
